The public is invited to join the Sisters of the Order of St. Benedict for Empty Bowls: A Gathering of Hope on Saturday, October 11th. This community event will take place from 11a-2p at The House Food & Tap in St. Joseph.

An Empty Bowls celebration provides attendees the opportunity to “purchase” a bowl handcrafted by local potters and artists, which they can use to enjoy a shared meal of soups. There are no set prices; attendees are asked to donate what they can. All proceeds will benefit the St. Joseph Food Shelf.

The public is also invited to donate handmade bowls to be used at the event. The bowls should be in good condition and can be dropped off at the monastery’s Gathering Place. Organizations or individuals interested in getting involved can contact Elizabeth at 320-471-8450 or ereum001@csbsju.edu. For more information visit www.sbm.osb.org
